Parents to Be antenatal classes offer an affordable 3 week group course covering topics such as * recognising labour, * early labour pain relief, * postnatal mental health, * bond and attachment, * baby brain development, * baby feeding, * handling, * changing, * bathing * and the safe use of baby slings and carriers. All the essential things you may want to be aware of before you baby arrives.
You won't find yourself in a classroom situation, our groups are interactive and fun, they are evidence based which allows you to make informed decisions for you and your family. We have fun items to show partners what it could feel like to be pregnant and bean bumps to demonstrate size and weights of babies at different stages through pregnancy plus sample equipment you can hire through the children's centres. Classes are run with due dates in mind so anyone in your group will be within 6 weeks of each other.
After the 3 week course you will be offered a date to return to the venue for a reunion with your group of parents. If you haven't already had a chance to do so, you'll have the opportunity to come back and introduce your babies and catch up over a drink. Some families find their longest friends through antenatal classes.
Classes cost £30 per pregnant woman who can bring 1 person with her for company/support. There are some limited free spaces through Torbay Childrens Centre, please contact 01803 210200 for details as criteria applies.
